We're building tomorrow's public service leaders today.

Each year the Truman Foundation selects the most promising leaders from each state, plus the US territories, making commitments to careers in public service. Our responsibility is to identify and invest in the next generation of leaders in service to our nation as "living memorials".

In 2020, we now have Truman Scholars serving everywhere from the US Supreme Court to American embassies, representing US interests overseas. We are mayors of small towns and university presidents. Trumans are running major nonprofits and commanding storied military units, and much more.

In addition to funding for graduate school, we provide lifelong mentoring opportunities through our more than 3,200 Scholars and provide recent graduates with unique opportunities for employment in local, state, and federal government, with nonprofit organizations, etc.
