Fostering Inclusive Communities: Perspectives on Disability Experience, Policy, & Advocacy
Share
According to the World Bank, one billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, experience some form of disability. As COVID-19 continues to have wide-reaching impact across the globe, it is essential to understand how people with disabilities are uniquely affected with respect to health, education, and transportation.
Panelists will explore the landscape of disability advocacy, personal and community experience, and ways that we can all be more inclusive of those with disabilities. Our moderator is Jory Fleming (SC 16), Climate Solutions Specialist at Carolinas Integrated Sciences & Assessments and the author of the forthcoming book How to Be Human: An Autistic Man’s Guide to Life.
Panelists include:
Teresa Danso-Danquah (VA 14), NextGen Initiatives Manager at Disability:IN
Anna Landre (NJ 20), Fellow at the Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies and Commissioner of ANC 2E in Washington, DC
Jay Ruckelshaus (IN 15), Founder and CEO, Ramp Less Traveled
